Rates

For Raccoons, Skunks and Squirrels I set 3 traps and charge $80 per nite for any number of animals caught. If the order is for trapping Skunks or Raccoons and I catch Squirrels, I will release the Squirrels. If the order is for trapping Squirrels and I catch Skunks or Raccoons I charge for removal of the nuisance animal. If you order removal of Raccoons or Skunks and the other species is caught I still charge to remove these animals.

If I trap for 4 consecutive nights without any result I charge a flat rate of $80 for the attendance to the traps for those 4 days.
For Moles and Voles the charges vary according to the size of the infestation. They usually range from $60 - $150 per treatment of the colony tunnels. Repeat treatments are often required. I quote these upon inspection.

For emergency calls which are outside the range of my “normal” rounds I charge a minimum of $100.

In peak season, I begin very, very early to beat the TRAFFIC!!! I can’t call you at 5 in the morning. If you want to fill out the form that I need with all the information I need I can usually come to your house the next day. Animal Nuisance Problems tend to occur in WAVES. They are not present year round. Due to high call volume within some of these times, it is NOT possible for Walter to call everyone with details of daily activity. For important RATE and other information please READ the WEBSITE. We aim to help you and appreciate your help and understanding. Prompt payment is requested upon billing and reduces any finance charges which come into play after 30 DAYS ( 15% per month).

IMPORTANT Information Please READ !!

When I set traps at your home I always check them within 24 hours. You do NOT need to call the office to report what you found. I leave the house early and the calls are not forwarded to me. If you want me to stop trapping you can leave a note on one of the traps, that way when I check the trap I will be aware of your desire. If for some RARE and unforeseen reason you saw an animal that was caught the previous nite in a trap after 2pm please call my office to report that to me. I do not go out to pick up animals that were caught on that day after I left. I only check the traps ONCE in 24 hours.

Many people hate to see the animals trapped in the humane traps.

I realize this can be difficult but it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to attend to the traps on an a basis that is outside of my rounds.

Keep CHILDREN and PETS away from the traps. Nuisance animals carry diseases. Do not move or play with the traps please.

If you release the animals they will be afraid to go into the traps again and you will have a nuisance animal that will persist in your neighborhood. DO NOT RELEASE Skunks and RACCOONS. Raccoons can be extremely dangerous if cornered!

Length of Trapping

I usually trap until I have not caught anything for at least one or two nights to be sure I have removed the entire “ family” of the nuisance animals. Some people think they only have ONE or two animals and are unaware that more animals can be present than those they have seen. If you have a strict budget that you need to conform to. Tell me this at the outset and I will do my best to work with you. I also offer advice on how to prevent re intrusion, and will even perform this work at certain times of the year, when trapping demand is not at peak.

As stated previously. I can NOT control catching skunks when trying to catch Raccoons or vice versa. You will be billed for all nuisance animals caught, unless they are squirrels which were not reported as the primary problem.

On rare occasions I will “trip the traps” myself, say if I have to go off island and will not be able to check the trap. I do this rather than remove it and have to re install it. Usually I will try to let you know if I do this, but it’s important not to reset it yourself if you see ALL the traps tripped and no animals in them.

Pets been SPRAYED by a SKUNK?

There are many commercial products for sale that remove the odor of Skunk, but I have relied on White Vinegar for years myself as a neutralizing agent for the alkaline skunk spray. The acid vinegar does nicely. DO NOT get it in your pets eyes.

If you mix about 50% Vinegar with water and wash the face with a wet cloth avoiding the eyes and then wash the rest of the animal with the solution, it will be very effective. You can also spray any area that has been effected. Picking up a gallon or two to keep on hand is a cheap way to avoid the odor persisting.

You can leave the solution on the pet and then shampoo them the next day.
